Welcome to my blogspot.  Where you will find photographs of rocks, water, more rocks, water and beautiful flowers.  This black and white photo is of my favorite little creek.  It can be a raging waterfall or a trickling stream depending on the season, rainfall, and other weather events.  It has been a learning spot for me to capture the beauty of moving, flowing waters.  And in the northeast of the USA, there are a number of waterfalls to visit and photograph.  This is a wonderful secluded spot in NJ, a nature preserve.

This is the same little creek but on a very sunny morning just after a hard rain.  It was difficult to get the water to be this nice and smooth.  This little creek has many faces and I'm still finding more.

Here is a shot from a waterfall in PA - close to the NJ border.  It can be difficult to photograph since one has to climb down, over and around some large slippery boulders and obstacles.  But it is a nice waterfall on any given day - after a rain.  These rocks and waters sing - actually they ring!
Not the easiest falls to shoot - access isn't easy.  And don't light a match as these are part of Marcellus shale with untapped, as yet, natural gas reserves.

Fall is an exceptionally good season to photograph nature.  The colors can be stunning - WITHOUT photoshop.  But it often helps.

The area directly around this waterfall isn't very nice but the water can be.  I took this a number of years ago - and it is still one of my favorites.  The waters just seem to embrace this embedded rock.  I intended this shot for a friend of mine that passed away - I didn't manage to give it to him before he died.
On a walk last Thanksgiving Day, the sun just came out as I was taking this shot - and it really enhanced the reflection of the trees in the water.  It added the right tone to the image.

I always come back to my favorite little creek, full of Fall color.  Capturing the color of the water and the foliage isn't always easy.  I always shoot with circular polarizing filters, neutral density if needed and a tripod.

I like this Fall shot - but I was new to my Nikon D80 at the time and hadn't yet mastered all of the settings, etc.  All in all, this shot is ok - but it could have been perfect!  Great fall colors, very good reflections on a very calm and quiet Sunday morning, couldn't have asked for a better opportunity.
