The Grounds for Sculpture garden is a wonderful place to visit and photograph year round. There are many interesting walkways, exceptional landscaping, beautiful trees and plants all through the gardens. The landscaping is masterful. There are many interesting photo ops with rich tonality.
The season doesn't matter - it is beautiful throughout the year.
There is always an inviting doorway and a bench or chair to sit and rest - or think quietly.
I find that the sculptures meld with the landscape artistically. It is a very pleasant way to spend time in a beautiful location to refresh.
A great runaway place in the middle of the week or weekend - whenever the need arises. A short walk around the grounds or through an exhibit is a good place to refresh and refocus the mind and soul.
There are always shrubs or trees in bloom to photograph. This rose came out particualrly well on an overcast summer morning.
I am always struck by the calm and beauty of the gardens. Masterfully executed.
This is one of my favorite shots - with the brilliant sky at the end of the long grass walkway along the water.
Walkways, archways, paths, hidden treasures are what you'll find at the Grounds for Sculpture. And many opportunities for photographs. It is a quiet place generally and peaceful.
