Iris Bud in May 2012

An iris bud is spectacular to see - and the beautifully patterned shawl that wraps the bud as a protective shawl is quite impressive.  This is a white iris about to bloom - and I love the blue tip of the bud.  Taken rather quickly in the rain between the drops.
