Helleborus Niger 2012

Every winter I can't wait to see the Helleborus Niger (Winter Rose) in bloom.  It has been very very cold and windy in the northeast USA but this evergreen flower is such a joy to see - with its blooms and buds in the winter cold.  Here are a few of my shots from today March 10, 2012.  Enjoy please and may they brighten up your day as they have mine.

These beautiful flowers and buds are facing down towards the earth making it difficult to setup the tripod and macro lense for the close ups - but it is worthwhile.

The rose colored buds are so full of life and expectations of tomorrow.  They are delightful to see even though my nose is so close to the ground!

There are so very many buds to see, clusters of buds all along the ground and still covered with leaves and mulch from the fall.  What a magnificent happy plant!

And after a rain, the flowers and buds are even prettier to see.  And the sun was just right with no wind to take shots of these beauties.

These are very peaceful flowers.  And easy keepers as a prelude to spring.
