Every year some plant or flower seems to capture my attention. This year it is the Helleborus niger. Planted last year and surviving an ice and snow cladding winter, it blossomed with beautiful flowers late winter/very early spring. I couldn't get enough photographs of this jewel. Here are some of the many views I managed to capture, many times very early in the morning and just at dusk. Some are cartoons. I was totally fascinating to see how the buds develop into flowers through the whole cycle.
Common Name: Christmas Rose
